Annual Award by Association of Public Relations Professionals

The Latvian Association of Public Relations Professionals has awarded its Annual Award for developing public relations in the academic environment to Olga Kazaka, Partner at the communication agency A. W. Olsen & Partners/Scholz & Friends Riga. It’s the fourth year since the Latvian Association of Public Relations Professionals has presented its awards to outstanding public relations experts. Following a joint vote by all members of the association, the annual award is given to those representatives of this field who have contributed to its development. Olga Kazaka, who in addition to her work in the communication agency also teaches at the University of Latvia, has received the award for her research on corporate communication in social media and the practical application of her research findings. “It is very important to me that my colleagues have valued highly my commitment to merge the academic and practical efforts that are often regarded as opposite concepts, which I believe to be wrong. If both of these fields interact, each of them becomes more valuable,” admits Olga Kazaka. This year the awardees also included Ivars Svilans, Head of Communication at Swedbank Latvia, Toms Sadovskis, Press Secretary of the State Police, Inga Latkovska, Chair of the Board at LEAD and a lecturer at the University of Latvia, and Maris Plume, Head of Corporate Relations Management at Swedbank Latvia.
