Latvian companies mainly export to Lithuania, Estonia and Germany

To successfully develop exports and strengthen Latvia's position in the global market, it is essential not only to offer goods and services but also to communicate effectively and promote brand recognition on an international level. Data from the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia* shows that the largest share of Latvia's exports is to countries such as Lithuania (18.06%), Estonia (11.94%) and Germany (6.69%).

Collaborating with foreign communication agencies often comes with added challenges, such as differences in mentality, cultural context, and language barriers. In the communications field, a clear and well-crafted message is half the battle. Working in a shared language not only helps avoid misunderstandings but also saves valuable time on approvals - time that can be better spent on addressing strategic priorities.

“Latvians are often known for working hard but not celebrating their achievements enough. Competing successfully in international markets is not just about creating high-quality products and services - it’s about presenting them confidently. It’s great to see more companies, with our support, strategically enhancing their communication efforts across Europe,” says Olga Kazaka, partner at the communication agency Olsen+Partners.

For Latvian companies looking to expand in the Baltics, Europe, and beyond, it is crucial to communicate in a way that not only reaches their target audience in a specific country but also resonates with them.
