PR Agency A.W.Olsen & Partners/Scholz & Friends Riga keeps up its work on the “Butterfly Effect” charitable campaign, that aims at providing the orphanage pupils with some career-guidance, and assists them in finding their place in the community at their attainment of majority. Under the campaign a Work Experience Day is foreseen. Everyone, who is prepared to share his/her life and professional experience, is kindly invited to support this mission. During the last months this project has gained new partners, thereby rising to another level.
Under the “Butterfly Effect” campaign we have taught these orphans what a discipline is really like. The best way to feel it – is through the sports activities, and surely, it will be a good asset, as in the work environment and different life situations we are often required to remain strong and focused. The children were delighted at the possibility of going on ice with the Latvian hockey team, and to play basketball with sportsmen of VEF Rīga club. We keep exposing these children to various professions. At the end of May they have managed not only enter into the backstage of the Latvian Puppet Theatre, but at the beginning of June they were able to bake with their own hands fresh bread at the Lāči bakery. The latter activity was implemented thanks to our cooperation with the Ministry of Welfare of the Republic of Latvia, which became one of the initiatives of the 2010 European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion. We are especially proud that the idea of the “Butterfly Effect” found more followers, who in their turn have received the unique photo album issued by fine photography artist Maris Kiselov. That photo album you wouldn’t find in the retail – one may get it into possession, only if he/she joins the campaign as the supporter.
